State Collaborative Projects
The Mural is not being painted by Ellen alone.
"I wanted to get other people involved," she
says, "so they could share my excitement,
and so that it would not only be of
Americans but also by Americans."
Ellen decided to visit all 50 states and
to work with everyone from preschoolers
to retirees. She has already been to 11
states and worked with over 2,000 people.
"By the time it's finished," Ellen says, "my guess
is that 100,000 people will have been involved."
In addition to individuals, numerous other nonprofit organizations have also gotten involved with the mural. AMP's partnerships include: Habitat for Humanity, NASA, HealthCorps® and General Federation Women's Clubs of Connecticut. AMP's Teacher Advisory Council is working on educational projects that teachers can use to bring the mural into thier classrooms. |
